Summary:
Ok so this is my first time trying to thoroughly read a Lenormand grand tableau. I know this is a spread for general use, but I'm hoping it'll give me info about my love life. I'm good with line readings, but 3x3 spreads are a challenge, and I'm looking to see if I can figure out how to read a GT, to really challenge myself. I'll use myself as my first victim. Using this site as a way to have everything laid out for me while I decipher it. I'm following a bunch of tutorials. This reading will be LONG, and full of rambling speculation as I figure things out.
Deciphering card houses: Each position on the board is a "house". Each placement has an equivalent card on the board. I'm not going to pair up all of the cards and their houses today, so I'm going to pick the cards and houses that have most to do with the subject of love. Lets start with the Lady card. I'm located in the house of Birds. Maybe social matters regarding a woman? Maybe I HAVE something social going on? Let's check the ...

Let's check the Lady's house. In the Lady's house is.. House. Maybe the Lady's house can be used to represent what's on my mind, which right now is living in my home and the prospect of moving out due to cost of living issues. While not romantic, this is a general important matter in my day-to-day life so I think it should be taken into consideration. Let's check the Man's card, which is in the Cloud's house. Um yeah I am unsure about how this dude feels lol. Yeah that helps me a lot. That about sums it up. In the Man's house, is the Snake card. Maybe he's dealing with a snake in his life, whether he knows about it or not. Maybe he's going through something rn or a past snake has affected him, so he's hard to read. The Heart card is in the Book's house. To dedicate something to heart? Learn about love? Unsure what to make of this one.
"Knight-ing" the Heart card: There are a few cards that pair up with the Heart card in this way, and they'll be read as pairs, with each card being a modifier for the Heart card. Heart>Bear: protective partner, wealthy partner, jealous partner? Love that is nurturing? Heart>Clouds: Don't like this one but probably because the cloud card isn't that great. Love that is confusing? Confusing feelings about love? Uncertainty about love? Heart>Crossroads: having to make a choice about love? Lovingly making a decision? Heart>Sun: Successful relationship, passionate love, happiness in a relationship, obvious love. I find it strange that the Heart card knighted both the Cloud card and the Sun card, when the meanings seem to be entirely juxtaposed. What's that about?
Central 4, The Heart of the Matter: Lady (also my signifier), Scythe, Crossroads, and Birds.
I'm reading the central 4 first solely because my signifier card is in it. Otherwise I would start with the corner cards and work my way inwards. OK so my signifier being part of the central 4 and also juxtaposed between Crossroads and Scythe is scary. I feel like this means I need to cut someone, or something out of my life but I'm not sure who or what. Let's let the rest of the reading answer that question for me. The Bird card may indicate that this is a social matter, so perhaps it's someONE. Perhaps my signifier card is also being used as a placeholder for a certain feminine figure in my life. Following the line reading, it would be Lady>Scythe, Crossroads>Birds. I'm cutting someone off (maybe a lady), and I have to make a decision about or will be in a dilemma regarding my social life. Wow not off to a great start, but let's get on with the corner cards.
Corner cards, Main Themes: Rider, Mice, Dog, Stars.
Corner cards can be read clockwise or as pairs. I want as much information as I can get, so I'll do both.
Clockwise- Rider>Mice: Urgent message about a setback or deterioration. Maybe I'll receive info that he's with someone else? That's a setback I think. Maybe info about a setback with finances? Perhaps just a worrying message? Mice>Star: Depletion of hope? Pressure to achieve goals? omg I'm literally sick wtf. What the hell is this reading? Stars>Dog: A hopeful friend? A Famous friend? I don't have either of those so idk who this could be referring to. Dog>Rider: a friend with a message? A new friendship? A friend is coming to visit? Maybe I'll invite him out to do something one day? These two pairings sound a lot nicer than the first two, but that could also just be because neither of them contain the Mice card, like the first two.
Pairs- Rider>Stars: Incoming hope, an inspiring message. Mice>Dog: Dwindling loyalty? Exhausting friendship? Worried friend? False friend, or false loyalty. Not sure who or what this is describing.
